WHAT WE DO

At Self-Publish.ca, we guide self-publishers through the sometimes bewildering process of publishing a book. Our in-house services include the following:

• editorial work (editing, proofreading, etc.)

• design and layout of the pages and the cover

• liaising with the printing house or POD service

• arranging for e-book conversions

Our first advice to you will be that you read through the information on this website, and then email us with any questions that you still need answered. For each book project, we provide a free estimate that can include any or all of the services listed above. As well, we explain each step of the process so that our clients get their “what happens next?” questions answered.

We have been working with self-publishers since 1986, when computerized typesetting began. Since then, we have seen the development of personal computers, scanners, digital printing and ebooks. All of these improvements have made book publishing more accessible and more affordable for self-publishers, but also more puzzling.

We’re here to guide you through the process so that you understand each step and what you will be paying for. We don’t offer packages—instead we prepare a detailed and accurate estimate for each self-published book project.
